I
always listen to music when I paint — injecting those sounds
into my work. Through the use of many layers and colors, I'm able
to express rhythms in music, patterns of sound, and musical textures.
The canvas is my song so to speak.
Composition is important to me, so I work to achieve a balance
between shapes and colors. The brushstrokes, colors, and textures
in my paintings also represent the way people's personalities
are created — shaped through many layers of behaviors, experiences,
and their individual backgrounds.
I use mostly acrylic paints — but sometimes oil bars, mixed
media, and texturizers are used to achieve different effects.
