1. Acrylic paint is fast drying. The best way to keep it workable is to have a spray bottle of water handy. Regularly mist the paint to keep it from drying out.
2. Consider buying a stay-wet palette. They have a wax cover over damp watercolor paper. This keeps the paint moist.
3. Only take as much paint from the tube as you can use in a short time. And always put the cap back on tight.
4. Immediately after rinsing your brushes, blot them on a piece of absorbent cloth or thick tissue. This will remove any excess water and stop it running down the brush onto your art work.
5. When using transparent glazes, build up the glaze in thin layers otherwise it will just look like gloss.
6. Use a special flow-improver medium if you want more flow but don't want to dilute the color. Water will provide the flow but will also dilute the paint. color.
