Acrylic paint is the favored paint for many artists because it is so versatile. It can be used on canvas, fabric, wood, paper, stone, brick, and many other mediums that are free from oil and grease.
Some artists like acrylic paint because it is fast drying. Others prefer a longer drying time and so use acrylic paints that have a moisture retaining quality. Ones painting style usually dictates which form to use. Acrylic paint mediums come in anything from thin enough to use for glazing to thick paste where the stroke of every brush can be seen.
Acrylic paint comes in many colors and can be bought in tubes, tubs, and large jugs. It also comes in different grades and price ranges. This means there is paint suitable for the professional and also the occasional home hobby painter. There are no powerful fumes with acrylic paint so it is suitable for children to use and in all environments.
